Smoke n’ Shake Theater is a theater collective (or at least one in the works) focused on putting on works that strive to tell stories in an engaging, intimate, comedic, and fun fucking way, emulating rowdy, social Victorian Theater etiquette in a modern Brooklyn way. No pretentiousness. No frills. Just immersive, intimate, exciting barebones theater. Oh yeah- there’s weed involved too. Think of this as a “theater-of-the-senses” that allows audience members to be immersed and as stoned as they want to be. We loosely follow the Chicago Backroom Shakespeare model which means little to no direction, only 2 rehearsals, wacky stupid work done by serious players, and done at a cannabis lounge.
